Prato -
Argo Aerospace, in the finals for the "Gaetano Marzotto" Award.
Prato-based startup Argo Aerospace has been included among the 35 finalist projects of the "Gaetano Marzotto" national prize for technological innovation with the project Argo O.S., which aims to realize an operating system for drones and its development environment. The project was selected from about a thousand submitted.
Argo Aerospace was born only in September 2016, but it has already won numerous regional awards, including the Impresa Campus UNIFI 2016 Award, an initiative promoted by the University of Florence reserved for new business ideas, and inclusion in the list of 10 finalists at the 2016 Startcup Toscana Award, the antechamber to the national "Gaetano Marzotto" award for technological innovation.
Argo Aerospace's goal is to make the drone take an evolutionary leap, like the one we witnessed about 10 years ago in the mobile phone industry with the transition from the "simple" cell phone to the smartphone. Not only that, the Prato-based startup aims to make remotely piloted model aircraft (A.P.R.) technology simple and affordable for everyone.
The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the UniCredit Pavilion in Milan. An event realized in collaboration with Italia Startup and APSTI that will see 35 mentoring paths awarded to as many selected startups for a total value of 1,102,000 euros.
"We are extremely proud to participate in the final stage of the Gaetano Marzotto Prize," says project Team Leader Francesco Garbin Guarducci, "as this is the most important event in our country for technological innovation. Our project was chosen by Friuli Innovazione, science and technology partner of the Premio dall’idea all’impresa | Premio Gaetano Marzotto. Winning this recognition fills us with joy and encourages us to pursue, with even greater confidence, our goals. Working side by side with a technology partner of the level of Friuli Innovazione will make the Argo O.S. project take that evolutionary leap, which we all hope for, to constitute an innovative startup and attract Italian and foreign investors. In the meantime, we serenely enjoy this new demonstration of esteem from our country's technical and scientific bodies."
